Seekonk Boys Soccer Wins Summer League Title

Norton – After three straight summers of finishing in second place, the Warriors snapped the streak. The Seekonk boys’ soccer team earned some new championship t-shirts last night by beating Foxboro, 1-0, in the title game of the Norton high school summer league.

A goal by Rony Morales proved to be the game winner in a rain (lightning) shortened final. The game was called with ten minutes remaining in the second half.

The Warriors (5-1 during the regular season) earned a spot in the final by beating Norton, 2-0, in the semi-final. Evan Pacheco scored a goal in the win. The second Warriors goal was scored by the Lancers on their own goal on a throw-in.

Goalie Luke Robitaille earned two shutouts as the backstop of a stout Warrior defense that didn’t allow a shot on goal in either game.
